Beth Hamby

Senior Associate

Beth Hamby a transit technical assistance specialist and planner with more than 30 years of experience in public transit and specialized transportation. Her background includes rural and urban transit, paratransit, and coordinated human service transportation planning, technical assistance on compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for transportation services and facilities, Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliance assessments, technical assistance to state-level transit grant programs, development of guidebooks and manuals, communications, and customer service. 

Ms. Hamby has conducted several national research projects, and has authored several Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) reports. For several years, she provided technical assistance and developed publications for the former Easter Seals Project ACTION, a national technical assistance center funded by the FTA to improve transportation accessibility for people with disabilities. As a planner for Pierce Transit in Washington, she coordinated the agency’s bus stop program. Ms. Hamby also served as an assistant director for Transit Services of Frederick County in Maryland. She began her career with Shuttle-UM Transit, where she operated fixed route and paratransit services.
