KFH
Group Staff Brandy A. Carroll Transportation
Analyst Brandy Carroll is a transportation
planner with research and practical experience in managing and planning
community engagement, and regional transportation coordination. Her background includes community analysis,
special populations’ need assessment, and focus group facilitation. Ms. Carroll joined KFH Group in 2007,
bringing her skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping and a
variety of design software applications in addition to her planning and
research experience. Ms.
Carroll served as a Transportation Planner for the Community Action Network
where she conducted an extensive amount of research, community outreach, and
planning. In this position, she
defined the key regional transportation organizations and their roles in
coordination and planning within the Capital Area. In addition, Ms. Carroll facilitated over
numerous focus groups with more than 80 participants and 40 organizations on
the issue of transportation challenges for health and human providers and their
clients. She also served as a liaison
between the community and the Capital Area Regional Transit Coordination
Committee to define possible recommendations and solutions to overcome
existing challenges within the transit system and opportunities for
collaborative action. Importantly, she
had the opportunity to work with planners from the Capital Area Metropolitan
Planning Organization and Capital Area Council of Governments in the field to
better understand the regional transportation system, as well as transit
planning policy and procedures in the Capital Area. In the past, Ms. Carroll served as an
Assistant Account Manager and FHA Loan Processor where she gained the
important skill of providing excellent and tailored customer service to every
client. Ms.
Carroll is currently finishing her M.S.C.R.P. at the University of
Texas. There she has matriculated in a
rigorous schedule involving Public Finance, Building and Sustaining Local
Communities, and Design. Each class
requires substantial critical thinking and technical proficiency. For her Master’s thesis, Ms. Carroll will
be researching the specific gaps and public transportation challenges for the
elderly and people living with disabilities within the Capital Area. This study will require an intimate
understanding of the needs of these special populations, knowledge of the
existing public transportation system, transit policy, and coordination with
the Capital Area Regional Transit Coordination Committee. |
