On November 23, 2009, the MTA’s Statewide Planning Division hosted the Mobility Management: Helping to Meet Transportation Needs in Maryland workshop.  The objectives for the workshop were to:

  • Raise awareness regarding mobility management strategies, and how these efforts can help meet the increasing need for transportation options while using available funding efficiently and effectively.

  • Encourage interaction between various projects funded through the Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC), New Freedom, Section 5310, and Senior Ride Programs.

  • Encourage applications for the New Freedom and JARC Programs by educating jurisdictions on potential mobility management projects.

  • Provide assistance with current and future mobility management efforts through appropriate speakers, resources, and information on mobility management and coordination.

  • Develop a vision and goals for mobility management in Maryland.

  • Educate non-transportation agencies and organizations regarding their role in mobility management.

  • Highlight lessons learned through the Cecil and Harford County United We Ride pilot projects.
